ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MANGO & KEFIR SMOOTHIE BOWL

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MANGO & KEFIR SMOOTHIE BOWL

By DELFINA FORSTMANN

21st Oct 2024

This beautiful smoothie bowl is tangy, delicious and a great morning booster to start the day with a happy gut. Its key ingredients, mango and kefir, are packed with anti-inflammatory properties and nutrients that promote healthy bacteria in the gut. Kefir is a fermented food with a consistency comparable to drinking yogurt and studies have shown that it boosts your immune system, aids in digestive problems and improves bone health. Mangos (known as the “kings of fruit” in some parts of the world), contain so many health boosting nutrients; they are high in antioxidants that protect your cells against free radical damage and are a great natural source of Vitamin A and C which boost your immune system.

To supercharge your smoothie, you can also add two capsules of your favorite Dr. Barbara Sturm supplements such as SKIN FOOD into the mix. Packed with potent anti-oxidative substances that help reduce irritation as well as vitamins, minerals and Omega-3 fatty acids, SKIN FOOD adds an extra dose of healthy nutrients to your breakfast.

Ingredients

SERVES 6

• 1 cup fresh or frozen mango
• ¾ cup plain unsweetened kefir
• 1 tsp honey
• ½-in piece of ginger
• ½ tsp ground turmeric
• 2 capsules SKIN FOOD
• Granola
• Bee pollen (optional)
• Fresh fruit for topping

Method

Simply place all of your ingredients into a food processor or blender, open up the two capsules of SKIN FOOD and add the powder into the mix. Blend until you have a smooth and creamy consistency. Pour your smoothie mix into bowls and top with granola, fresh fruit and bee pollen (skip this step to make it vegan), then serve and enjoy!
